Chapter 2 - Bibliography

Cameron, G. 1950. Tissue Culture Technique. Academic Press, New York. Because of the modern surge in expensive disposables, the art of the reusable is submerged in the older literature. This dated volume is a wonderful, compact addition to the low-cost lab and discusses space, equipment, and sterilization procedures.

New, D. A. T. 1966. The Culture of Vertebrate Embryos. Logos Press, London. It is hard to find a volume that discusses embryological tools. This book has a short chapter on several of the classics such as glass bridges, microneedles, and micropipettes.

Rugh, R. 1948. Experimental Embryology: A Manual of Techniques and Procedures. Burgess Publishing, Minneapolis, MN. This very old, out-of-print text is both a classic and a gold mine, and it should be bought whenever it is discovered on the dusty shelves of a used bookstore. An introductory chapter discusses some toolmaking techniques and is followed by a wealth of information on amphibian development and experiments.
